Overview

CVP is seeking a Communications Specialist to make a positive impact in cybersecurity.  The professional in this role will support high quality program deliverables and ensure that messages are communicated well.

Responsibilities

  • Draft communications and coordinate the logistics, speakers, and related materials for ISC meetings and events. Enhance the overall communications strategy and implementation plan to inform, educate, engage, and develop stakeholder’s interest. Execute marketing plans to reach a variety of target audiences. Develop and maintain communications briefings, presentations, announcements, etc.
  • Develop content for executives, divisions, and branches. Create and revise content for articles in technical and general media publications, digital newsletters, etc. Develop, maintain, and execute communication plan as required.
  • Produce, design, and edit content for videos, social media, public announcements, fact sheets, presentations, training courses, and other associated media and materials. Develop and present communications briefings, graphics, newsletters, and blog entries, and presentations.
  • Support innovative communications and marketing programs across a variety of platforms, ensuring themes, messages and desired outcomes are consistent across media channels.
  • Support federal team in managing stakeholder expectations, maintaining, and executing communication plans (i.e. developing and presenting communications briefings, newsletters, and presentations).
  • Organize and oversee communication related to IT events and activities; Draft and edit speeches, articles, and other communication materials.
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of communication plans, strategies, and outreach projects that effectively convey the organization’s priorities and increase awareness of information technology issues and services.
  • Develop and maintain a coordinated network of information sharing among internal staff to integrate communications efforts across the organization.
  • Collaborate and coordinate the development of graphics design projects, including reports, posters, presentations, newsletters, videos, illustrations, logos, infographics, and exhibits, involving writing and editing using plain language that explains complex information technology language or IT policy programs for various audiences.
  • Write, edit, and provide technical assistance for a variety of publications for internal and external audiences. Coordinate content, graphic design, video, or social media activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3-4 years of previous experience in a Communications Specialist or Technical Writing.
  • Strong experience with tools such as Captivate, Snagit, PowerPoint, and other tools that support writing and training materials.
  • Professional writing sample to share during the interview process.
  • Expert in MS Word.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Clear and concise verbal communication.
  • Ability to listen and capture information in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of initiative, a self-starter.
  • Strong attention to detail, collaborative.
  • A positive attitude and strong professionalism.

Desired Skills

  • Experience working for a consulting firm in the federal / heath sector.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and NIST 800-XX standards.
