Overview

CVP is seeking Medical Supply Technicians to provide essential inventory management and distribution services for our Nation's Veterans at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY. You'll play a critical role in ensuring medical supplies and materials are properly managed, distributed, and maintained throughout the healthcare system to support quality patient care.


As a Medical Supply Technician, you will ensure that supplies and materials are distributed from secondary inventory points to all areas serviced by Logistics, including sterile and non-sterile medical supplies. You'll be responsible for managing inventory systems, maintaining supply levels, and ensuring the integrity and sterility of medical supplies throughout the medical center and supported catchment areas.

 

Pay: $22.25/Hr

Health and Welfare Benefits: $5.09/Hr (Can opt for cash in lieu of benefits)

Responsibilities

  • Scan supplies, receive and store supplies in primary and secondary inventory locations
  • Distribute medical and surgical supplies throughout the medical center and catchment areas
  • Clean and rotate stock using "first in first out" rotation of expendable medical supplies and implants
  • Maintain stock at primary and secondary inventory locations for all clinical and administrative services
  • Monitor expiration dates and remove outdated or recalled items from use
  • Perform daily inventory of primary and secondary inventory points using bar coding equipment
  • Resolve discrepancies between records and physical count of stock
  • Distribute items according to established requirements in computerized inventory management systems 
  • Clean assigned secondary areas (shelves and bins) in accordance with aseptic principles and infection control guidelines
  • Deliver supplies in a timely and accurate manner to wards, clinics, and remote locations
  • Complete specialty cart preparation and stocking
  • Support wall-to-wall and periodic inventories as scheduled
  • Participate in conducting inventory of stock on hand and communicate discrepancies to leadership
  • Consolidate materials and provide maximum space utilization and protection of materials
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per local guidance

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required
  • Ability to successfully undergo a Government-sponsored background investigation (US Citizenship required)
  • Practical knowledge of standard supply inventory management procedures
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret policies, procedures, manuals, and regulations pertaining to supply/inventory management
  • Knowledge of general inventory management practices and procedures
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs (Word and Excel)
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of mathematical problem solving
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
  • Must have no criminal record
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push carts up to 100 pounds

 

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM EST (2 technicians)
  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST (3 technicians)
  • Rotational shifts may be required including weekends as needed
  • Federal holidays excluded from regular schedule
