CT Technologist

CVP is seeking experienced CT Technologists to join our team providing comprehensive imaging services to our Nation's Veterans at the Northport VA Medical Center in Northport, NY. This is a full-time, on-site position specializing in Computed Tomography imaging procedures.

Pay: $55-60/hr (Depending on Experience) 

• Perform CT imaging examinations according to established procedures and protocols
• Operate advanced CT equipment including 320 slice and 64 slice CT scanners
• Prepare patients for CT procedures by assessing needs, providing education, and ensuring comfort throughout procedures
• Position patients accurately to obtain optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure
• Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast agents according to established protocols
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast media and respond appropriately
• Evaluate image quality for diagnostic acceptability and take corrective action as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in CPRS (Computerized Patient Record System)
• Perform quality control measures on CT equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Follow radiation safety protocols including ALARA principles
• Participate in emergency preparedness training and respond to medical emergencies as needed
• Maintain professional conduct and demonstrate ICARE values (Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence)
• Complete mandatory VA training requirements including cybersecurity, privacy, and clinical training
• Work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and federal holidays

• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice Radiologic Technology in any U.S. state, territory, or District of Columbia
• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (R)
• Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in CT imaging
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT protocols
• Experience with contrast administration and IV insertion
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and assist patients with mobility

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology
• Experience with 320-slice CT technology and advanced imaging techniques
• Experience in cardiac CT and CT angiography
• Knowledge of VHA policies and procedures

Shift Requirements:

• Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Evening Shift: 3:30 PM - Midnight
• Night Shift: 11:30 PM - 8:00 AM
• Rotating weekends and federal holidays required
• On-call availability may be required
