Overview

CVP subsidiary Titan-Auxo, LLC is seeking certified Phlebotomists to provide services at VA Northern California Health Care System facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to serve our Nation's Veterans in a professional healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient identity by confirming two patient identifiers (patient name, date of birth and/or social security number) prior to accepting or collecting specimens
  • Perform venipuncture by following published Laboratory procedures
  • Collect adequate and properly labeled specimens
  • Properly determine current clinician orders in the computer, per Laboratory procedures
  • Perform waived and/or non-waived testing
  • Process specimens for testing and/or shipment to another laboratory for testing
  • Make contacts with patients, relatives, staff members, and coworkers in a concerned, compassionate, and helpful manner
  • Promote a harmonious and cooperative working environment in interactions with co-workers and supervisors
  • Follow all applicable VA and Joint Commission or College of American Pathologists standards
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality for patients, families, medical records, and electronic information
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, VHA policies, procedures, and instructions

Qualifications

  • Current certification in the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician
  • Minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital setting
  • Current tuberculosis testing, rubella testing, and required immunizations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, hospital terminology and/or clinics
  • Computer literacy and ability to use computers and technology efficiently
