Board Certified Radiologist

CVP is seeking Board Certified Radiologists to join our team in providing our Nation's Veterans with high-quality radiological services at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. This is a full-time, onsite position working Monday-Friday with on-call responsibilities. Residents and Fellows encouraged to apply.

Working Schedule:

• Standard in-person hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
• On-call responsibilities: weeknights 4:30 pm - 8:00 am and weekends from Friday 4:30 pm - Monday 8:00 am
• Holiday coverage as needed

• Provide general diagnostic and interventional radiology services, including but not limited to Abdominal/GU, Breast Imaging, Cardiovascular, General, Interventional, Musculoskeletal, and Neuroradiology procedures
• Perform diagnostic imaging interpretation for various modalities including conventional radiography, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine studies, and interventional radiographic procedures
• Review consults and next-day patient cases (minimum two hours daily)
• Provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for radiologic procedures
• Determine appropriate course of treatment and communicate with referring clinicians
• Provide post-procedure evaluation and follow-up and clinical consultation regarding complications of interventional radiologic procedures
• Complete clinical progress notes in CPRS within 48 hours of patient visits
• Process view alerts within seven days from date of creation
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities
• Attend staff meetings, tumor boards, and other specialized medical conferences as required
• Perform peer reviews (approximately four hours per month)
• Participate in the education and supervision of health professions trainees
• Maintain patient safety and infection control standards
• Follow all VA policies and procedures regarding patient care, documentation, and confidentiality

• One to four years of experience
• Ability to successfully undergo a Government sponsored background investigation (US Citizenship Required)
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited program
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
• Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures
• Proficient in the use of electronic medical records systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a VA Medical Center
• Fellowship training in one or more radiological subspecialties
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
