Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologist

CVP is seeking three (3) Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists to provide comprehensive hearing healthcare services at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS). These are full-time positions working Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and plan care for communication and swallowing problems
• Conduct comprehensive hearing tests and balance assessments
• Diagnose and treat hearing and balance disorders
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
• Prescribe and fit hearing aids and other assistive devices
• Provide oversight for onsite audiology health technician
• Sign and complete all required progress notes
• Provide counseling and education to patients and families about hearing wellness
• Assess the impact of hearing loss on communication and quality of life
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records

• Graduate or higher-level graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA)
• Minimum of 18 semester hours in the field of specialization with approved clinical practice
• Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Speech Language Pathology and/or Audiology in any US state or territory
• US citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentials including PIV card

Additional Requirements for Dual Specialty:

• For positions requiring both speech pathologist and audiologist duties: completion of a minor in the secondary field OR at least 1 year of professional experience in the secondary field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in VA or military healthcare settings
• Experience with VA electronic health records systems
• Demonstrated experience in providing patient education and counseling
