Overview

CVP seeks an experienced DevOps/Cloud Architect to design and build an organization’s DevOps and Cloud computing strategy, including adoption plans, application design, and management and monitoring. Oversee DevOps architecture and deployment in Cloud environments, including public Cloud, private Cloud, and hybrid Cloud. Act as an adviser to organizations and stay up-to-date on the latest trends and issues.  Participate and lead business development solutioning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic technical consulting on Cloud Enterprise Architecture creation to executives and C-suite level customers, preferably Federal.
  • Communicate effectively to a wide range of technical and business leadership.
  • Provide thought leadership and help define strategic and tactical vision to improve mission efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the ongoing development and security compliance of high-level system architectures, continue development of reference architecture documentation, and develop innovative, sustainable data architecture approaches.
  • Identify next generation concepts and lead research and prototyping efforts to evaluate new technologies, tools, and processes.
  • Present and defend technical decisions made by the team.
  • Deliver strategic multi-year roadmaps and technical guidance to organizational teams.
  • Serve as a enterprise architect and advisor for client systems and networks within Cloud and hybrid environments focusing on automation and orchestration.
  • Introduce DevOps concept and educate clients.
  • Introduce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and automate and orchestrate manual processes to improve the efficiency, reliability, and security of Cloud-hosted networks and systems.
  • Participate in business development activities including demo creation and presenting to clients
  • Participate in whitepaper development
  • Participate in proposal solution development and creation
  • Hands on development skills required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering or related field
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a practical, hands on engineering role including design and development of large-scale enterprise architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience as a client facing consultant with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • 4+ years of experience with designing, building, deploying, and securing software architectures in Cloud computing environments, including AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • 3+ years of experience with DevOps, continuous integration/deployment/delivery approaches and tooling, including Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub or similar tools.
  • 2+ years of experience with software development life cycle processes or Agile development, including Scrum, Kanban, rapid prototyping, or similar rapid development environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with container runtime technologies, cluster management/deployment tools, and orchestration software.
  • 2+ years of experience providing strategic technical consulting to executives and C-suite level customers, preferably Federal.
  • Strong understanding of Zero Trust concepts.
  • Experience with On-Prem to Cloud Platform migration.
  • Experience with open source application servers, database servers, Cloud computing concepts, and development integration tools
  • Experience with software development life cycle processes or Agile development, including Scrum, rapid prototyping, or similar rapid development environment
  • Ability to display expertise in objected-oriented, service-oriented application development principles, theories, and design patterns
  • Ability to architect enterprise DevOps solutions across multiple cloud settings
