Overview

Join a leading federal healthcare consulting firm as the Executive Director dedicated to transforming healthcare for veterans through strategic health informatics initiatives. As an Executive Director, you will build, grow, and manage a diverse portfolio of health informatics/EHR-related projects within the US government health care market. The ideal candidate has a master’s degree and has at least 15 years of relevant experience with both large and small programs, encompassing strategic information planning, business process reengineering, technology implementation and management practices. Prior Big-6 or equivalent consulting experience is a plus.

 

As the Executive Director, you will oversee the successful delivery of complex health informatics projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with federal regulations and standards. You will be responsible for managing project cost, schedule, and performance, and identifying and mitigating risks to the program. Additionally, you will leverage SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices to drive value and sustain organizational change and operational excellence through empowering high-performing Agile teams. Your expertise in health informatics or electronic health records projects, preferably within the Veterans Health Administration, will be essential in driving successful initiatives and enhancing healthcare services for veterans. Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of health informatics and electronic health records projects.
  • Oversee and support key operational activities including staff management, project management, staff utilization and growth workflows.
  • Provide health informatics knowledge and insights to guide solution and project delivery development.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, and performance to deliver high-quality results.
  • Apply SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices to drive value and sustain organizational change.
  • Empower and lead high-performing Agile teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Oversee full systems development life cycle, from planning to implementation and maintenance.
  • Lead enterprise-wide network engineering and strategic information planning efforts.
  • Conduct business process reengineering to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement and manage structure and management practices for optimal project outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure program success.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and standards.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Health Informatics Leader with a proven background in building and managing a diverse portfolio of projects. 
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in program management leading the delivery of health informatics or electronic health records projects.
  • Experience leading growth efforts, including proposals and responding to RFIs and RFPs.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience within the Veterans Health Administration or a similar environment.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the full systems development life cycle.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide network engineering and strategic information planning.
  • Proficiency in business process reengineering and management practices.
  • Strong ability to identify and mitigate risks to the program.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing project cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Familiarity with and understanding of SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices.
