Overview

CVP is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to join the team, lead technical writing and foster strong client relationships with a leading cybersecurity federal agency. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, write and edit high-visibility technical writing products for client leadership, such as briefing memoranda, meeting summaries, records, standard operating procedures, speeches, reports, and other materials.
  • Apply the Associated Press Stylebook, DHS style guide, and client-specific templates to work products.
  • Attend and take notes at client meetings, which vary from half-hour to full-day events.
  • Research and gather technical background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables relevant to the client focus area.
  • Translate concepts for various audiences, including stakeholders, government clients, and the general public.
  • Respond to client requests within a short timeframe (within 48 hours, for example).
  • Provide quality control reviews to documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with records management requirements from DHS, the National Archives and Records Administration, and other federal enterprise records schedules.
  • Travel on occasion to support customer-directed meetings when requested (domestic).

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience in support of the federal government as either an employee, civilian, or contractor.
  • Demonstrated ability to support meetings as the sole notetaker.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced and/or senior-level environment.
  • A customer service mindset and excellent client relationship skills.

Desired Skills

 

  • Experience working in support of the DHS, US federal government, or U.S. Congress.
  • Technical writing experience with the Associated Press Stylebook or U.S. Government Publishing Office Style Manual.
  • Current DHS suitability or an active government security clearance.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Familiarity with critical infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Location: 

  • Arlington, VA (hybrid - one day a week on site)
